Driving north on Panamerican Highway, take a dirt road towards Lobitos Town area (km 1104 after bridge over „Quebrada Honda“) There are lots of junctions (oil field area) but follow only the signs to Lobitos.

Once at Lobitos (you will see a old Military base there) turn left towards „Nuevo Lobitos“, in the little town to the right towards the bay. You will find a point break called „Lobitos“, the spot is located about 200 south of the point behind small cliffs.

Spotbedingungen

Pretty emtpy spot, even on the weekends. Hazards are rip currents and rocks, so watch out, not apt for beginners.

Reisebericht

Der einzige internationale Flughafen Perús ist bei Lima, der Hauptstadt. Ein 8-Millionen-Menschen-Moloch. Sehenswürdig sind die Stadtteile Miraflores, San Isidro & Barranco.

Es gibt zwei Möglichkeiten, ein Surftripp zu beginnen. Man fährt direkt vom Flughafen nach Miraflores und geht in einem der unzähligen Hostals dort (ca. 15€ die Nacht), und dann erkundet man die Stadt und seine Strände, oder man fährt direkt vom Flughafen nach Punta Hermosa (43km südlich) und kommt in einem Hostal unter (ca. 10€ die Nacht). Diese Variante würde ich empfehlen. Das Taxi dorthin kann bis zu 35€ kosten.

In Punta Hermosa angekommen, kann man entspannt die nächsten Tagen verbringen, beim Surfen, spazieren gehen, viele verschiedene Spots surfen, wie Caballeros, Señoritas, Punta Rocas, Kon Tiki und viele viele andere. Die wärmste Zeit ist von Dezember bis März, ist aber gerade Schulferien in der Zeit, es empfiehlt sich deswegen, besser im April oder Mai zu fliegen. Man sollte schon ein paar Wochen im Süden bleiben. Es gibt viele Wellen, und sie sind manchmal sehr stark, das ist gut für die Muskulatur, ein gutes Training.

Danach sollte man in den Norden fahren. Eine Busfahrt kostet ca. 20€. Man sollte zuerst nach Trujillo fahren, von da nach Huanchaco, es sind nur 40 Minuten mehr. Dort sollte man ein paar Tage verbringen, die Welle ist gut, nicht zu gross oder schnell, einfach gut. Und Huanchaco ist ein toller Badeort. Zum Essen ideal.

Danach sollte man nach Chicama fahren, 100km weiter Danach nach Pacasamayo, dann nach Poemape, und so die Küste rauf bis Mancora, und dort sollte man ein paar Tage bleiben, denn das ist die Surfzentrale des Nordens, dort treffen sich alle Surfer und besprechen gemeinsam die Surftripps in die Umgebung.

Man braucht kein Auto für so eine Expedition. Man sollte für einen 5 Wochen Trip mit 750€ rechnen. Man braucht für Peru keinerlei Impfungen oder ähnliches. Man soll nur ein bisschen aufpassen, wo man isst, es sollte sauber sein. Der Flug nach Peru kostet etwa 1,000€, mal mehr mal weniger. Als Deutscher bekommt man automatisch ein 3-Monats-Visum, also man braucht nicht vorher nach einem zu fragen oder so was, direkt fliegen!!! Das Beste ist, man nimmt ein Teil des Geldes in bar, der Rest in einer Kreditkarte. Man findet Automaten überall. Viele Leute sprechen dort Englisch, es gibt also nicht so grosse Kommunikationsprobleme.

Alle Surfspots sind sehr bekannt und leicht zu finden. Man braucht nur einen Taxifahrer danach zu fragen und es geht los. Die warten auf einen ein paar Stunden und dann fährt mit ihm wieder zurück. Man kann die ganze Küste Perús auch leicht mit dem Bus endecken. Mit Auto ist es natürlich besser, man muss aber immer auf das Auto aufpassen.

In Lima, in Avenida Arequipa ist die Deutsche Botschaft, falls mal der Pass verloren geht. Man kriegt dort einen Ersatzpass innerhalb Stunden. Die Beste Zeit also für Perú ist April-Mai, oder November – Dezember. Wen man aber nur in den Norden will, wo die schönsten Wellen sind, dann ist es fast egal, vom April bis Dezember ist es immer gut, danach kann es etwas voll sein.

Alle Spots sind leicht zu überschauen, bei welchem Wasser sie am besten brechen. Man braucht nur ein paar Tage dort zu verbingen. Natürlich sind alle morgens früh am besten, kein Wind und so. Im Norden muss man zwischen 2 und 5 Uhr nachmittags etwas Geduld zu haben, es ist windig, es legt sich aber wieder, die Late Sessions sind dann immer gut.

Wichtig für Perú:
Die Währung ist el Sol, (die Sonne) und für eine Dollar kriegt man 3,43 Soles, im etwa. Man sollte versuchen nicht so spät nachts zu fahren. Nachts lauern die Banditos. In Peru gibt es einen überfluss an Drogen, Kokain und Marihuana sind billig und gibt es zu Hauf, überall. Man sollte aber nie damit erwischt werden. Die Polizei ist ziemlich link, besonders mit Ausländern. Es ist dort sehr sehr heiss, also Cremen nicht vergessen. Man braucht eigentlich nur einen Shorty, aber einen langen Anzug, einen 3,2 mm starken Anzug kann nicht schaden. Manchmal ist das Wasser ziemlich kalt. Das gilt nur für Punta Hermosa (Süden Limas).
